Renewal Theology
A term coined by J.Rodman Williams which is a short term for doing systematic theology from a pentecostal /charismatic perspective. Renewal refers to the life renewing experience which the Holy Spirit gives in the life of the believer. More: www.RenewalTheology.net
Revelation Knowledge
A term, coined by the "Word of Faith" movement which designates a spiritual knowledge given by a Holy Spirit gift of God which they claim is on the same level of authority as the Bible itself. It is different from the theological term illumination because illumination doesn't suggest a new revelation but a deeper understanding of the biblical revelation. Revelation knowledge suggests a knowledge more than the Biblical revelation in which the tendency is to interpret the bible in the light of gained R.K. This way one can go in wrong hermeneutics and misinterpret the Bible if the R.K. contradicts it or doesn't come from God at all.
If properly defined R.K. can be a short term for the spiritual gift word of wisdom or word of knowledge (1 Corinthians 12) if these gifts are interpreted as supernatural gifts in a charismatic sense, also having in mind that these gifts must be discerned for authenticity through the scriptures.
Sin Management (slang)
Sin Management is a slang term that simply signifies an attitude that someone is concerned ONLY with his sins being forgiven, covered and etc. Many times it is used as a negative term for people who in life are concerned only with sins and salvation in the terms of forgiven sins and forget that salvation has a much broader theological sense.
Space Theology (slang)
Space theology is a try to make a theological system (in a general not strictly Christian sense) that would be used to communicate a faith in a Creator with extra-terrestial beings from space. It is an imaginative theology as the religion of the Star wars saga. Often Space theology is connected to neo-paganism and the new age movement and has a non-Christian bias. From a Christian perspective one wouldn't have to change Christian theology to make it a S.T.
Tinchevist, A Bulgarian Unofficial Pentecostal Movement
This is a Bulgarian pentecostal movement which is very conservative. It is a group that separated from the Union of Evangelical Pentecostal Churches during its formation. A historian of the Bulgarian Church of God, Danail Radkov. writes:
"In 1928 from the Pentecostal movement a large group of Pentecostal believers, mainly from Central and North-West Bulgaria separates. For many years they have been called "Tinchevist" after their leader, Stoyan Tinchev (1880-1965), who initially was a Methodist and a Bible bookseller.
The reason for the separation is the unwillingness of this group of believers led by their leader to come in the formation at that time of the Union of Evangelical Pentecostal Churches in Bulgaria. Stoyan Tinchev is convinced that each organization and organized way of church life is "human effort" that is not pleasing to God, which he said "must stop distorting the truth and grace".
According to Mr. Radkov, the Tinchevist are different in their theology and practice in:
- If you don't speak in an unkown spiritual language is not saved
- They believe in full divine predestination
- Washing the feet during taking the Lord's Supper
- Women must wear head scarves
- Men must raze their heads and wear mustaches
- They refuse to reach out to someone who is not of their society
- Only they are God's people
- They refuse to make a military oath and to carry weapons
- They re-baptize believers who were previously baptized in another evangelical church
